This weekend was so star studded that I really don’t know where to begin but here goes nothing. The weekend started with super star comedian “Joe Torry” arriving Thursday for an all out busting gut fun laugh fest at The Comedy Club alone side his long time friend and sometime business associate K Chill from the rap group K Chill & Tetraz. Night after night, packed show after packed show the people kept rolling in and the celebrities kept coming to welcome Joe Torry back to the city. We all know if Joe Torry was hanging with K Chill it was some long nights and plenty of club jumping. With the recent spike to K Chill & Tetraz career due to movie cameo’s and performing at Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash 2015 Joe Torry was not the only celebrity getting the royal treatment this weekend. If you are a Joe Torry fan and love good old fashion fun and comedy but didn’t catch his show this weekend then you missed a treat. Joe was in rare form with all new material and he definitely brought the city out.
Atlanta rappers K Chill & Tetraz have decided to start a contest that runs up to June 19th which is the day they are slated to appear at the Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash 20 at the Tabernacle. The group is looking for their biggest fan and whoever that is they will reward that fan with cash and a personalized gift. The rules are simple, all you have to do is tweet, Instagram Facebook, Vine or use whatever social media platform you have to show K Chill & Tetraz that you are their biggest fan. Make sure you tag the group in every post so that they can see your efforts. Once they discover who really is their biggest fan then one of the group members will personally contact you to give you your prize. Simple isn’t it? Now these are the links that you can use to tag your post…
As music insiders have been reporting for quite some time now the musical landscape and trend is changing. Most of the research speculate that people prefer to listen to their favorite classics oppose to the newer music which just doesn’t seem to have the same staying power. As more stations sprout up playing the classics this seems to have increase the brand and awareness of the more established artist. These artist are enjoying new concert bookings as well as the same if not just as much media coverage as the new rising stars. One such group is K Chill & Tetraz (Set It Off – They Be Jumping) that has taking advantage of this growing trend. Not only have they been added to large concert lineups, but they have also received offers to do movies, realty shows, make appearances and now they may be releasing new music. We heard thru the grape vine that they may be working on releasing a greatest hits album and there could be
a new bonus song or to from the group. The project is untitled at this time but it is refreshing to see artist show longevity and still maintain their creativity. Not only has K Chill & Tetraz taken advantage of this phenomenal opportunity but they have also launched a new website entitled ” http://www.kchillandtetraz.com ” which has given fans up to date news and insider information on the group as well as the culture. They are among a small group of entertainers that interact with their fans thru their social networking sites like “twitter.com/kchillandtetraz ” or even Facebook and Instagram consistently. Stay tune as this story develops for more information and to see if they will set a actual release date for this new project.
As far as the world knew the Atlanta based rap group K Chill & Tetraz only had one hit song which is “Set It Off”. Even thought their first release was a double single (Shake Like Jello/ Set It Off) that received equal radio spins people seemed to always love that “Set It Off” record. Now this is something that you didn’t know, they released multiple projects with some of the Souths elite bass artist as well as they would ghost write many artist songs. Yeah I said it “GHOST WRITE”! The truth is never as pretty as the hype of the stigma of rappers only rapping the truth from their heart. Lets get real this is the Music Business and this group is in the Business Of Music period. They collaborated and wrote the regional billboard charting single “They Be Jumping” with Michael Long. They released joint and solo full length projects “ThisIsWhatYouWant” “Amplified” and “Ain’t Nutt’n”. They assembled all the bass artist to form the Bass SuperStars and released the songs “Up” and “Superstar” and completed a full length album on them. If that isn’t enough they help crafted hit songs with The Crowd Pleasures like “I Betca Wont Get Crunk”. After the success of Freaknasty’s “Da Dip” single the group crafted multiple songs on his Freaknotic/ Crunk City . Also they did a collaboration with Bone Thugs In Harmony’s Lazy Bone and Freaknasty on the classic “Let Me See Your Tattoos” plus assisted Raheem the Dream with over half of his newly released “Back to the Future” album. Who knew? No one but the people involved and now the world but that’s not all. If you throw the “Certified Pimp” album into the mix and many more collaborations with stars outside of their genre of music it would be safe to say that these guys have been busy. Now how many of you knew all of this about the group? Some people may even say who cares, well you can’t appreciate your future or present without acknowledging your past. Atlanta History!
